Reading Corner

Once our basement is done, the current tv room will become our office/playroom.
I took it upon myself to get things moving. Well maybe not moving but it puts vision to what this room will be.
I took Mason's books and put them up on the shelf that we currently use for pictures.

Now that the books are there, I am so excited for this to be the playroom.

On a side note, Does a 8month old need this many books? haha the answer is yes because he will read them over the years.

Celebrate

No posts lately here. It's been boring here at Kampen Restoration but it has been far from boring in the Kampen household.
We have been celebrating my birthday and that means better wreath pictures.

Long Time

I just read an article that I think changed my way of thinking.
Now a days with all the technology we are all loosing our memory and our love for life. We get so caught up in all the things out there and we strive so hard to be better at everything. We aren't living in the moment anymore.
You may think your not loosing your memory but lets just look back when we didn't have cell phones, we knew most phone numbers.
Why remember things when there is google. Type in random words and it will bring up what you were trying to remember about a place or something you saw.

The article I posted below is written for moms but I think it applies to all.
Be who you are. Do what you can and don't dwell on what you can't do. Remember none of us are perfect. Love with all you heart and be true to yourself.

Please read the article no matter who you are. In this world where we are so over stimulated with all this technology, take time to enjoy every minute.

Project to be continued

I have started a project in Mason's room but it will not get finished until my sister comes home for a visit. She is currently in Africa doing good things, so we do not want to rush her back for a visit but we-would-love-it-so-so-so much! And of course Mason would love to meet auntie Connie.

This is the start of Mason's new mobile

No Bake (Amazingly Delicious) Cookies

The other day while saying bye to my skype date Constance, she mentioned she was going to make no-bake cookies.
I was intrigued to say the least, so I looked up a recipe on the trusty Pinterest.
Found this site: http://morganmoore.typepad.com/one_more_moore/2009/04/when-its-too-hot-to-bake-we-nobake.html

Following her recipe, I mixed butter, milk, sugar & cocoa in a saucepan. Brought those 4 ingredients to a boil.

Then added peanut butter, oats & vanilla.

Dropped them on a cookie sheet.

I have to say, I don't have a sweet tooth or bone in my body but I licked the spoon and bowl clean.
I also didn't get a nice picture of them nicely piled on a pretty plate.
They are that good, they went that fast.

This took me all of 8min. No Baking. Mix them and done!

Vacation Home

We bought a trailer at the beginning of winter.
I know, why buy a trailer in the winter when you cannot use it? Because seasonal products are cheaper when they are off-season.
So we got a great deal. They store it for free during the winter and the end of April we are having it delivered.

I have been shopping at Ikea for some essential home things. And we are so excited to get it all in there and have our first sleepover in our 'vacation home'.

Come back in May for inside pictures :)

Just the two of us

Mason and I went hiking this week. It was a warmish day, so we found a new trail and went for it.
Here is our little model...

Family Hands

This is a very cheap craft. So cheap it was free.
I had an empty frame on our frame shelf and found this interesting:
http://www.feelingstitchy.com/2011/07/sweet-family-portrait.html

So we traced our hands. went over the pencil in marker and wrote 'Kampens 2012'. framed it.
and there you have it.
Free art done by everyone in the family.
