Handy Tip
Here is some picture advice that you may think, 'why didn't I think of that?' I didn't think of it, so don't give me credit.
I had pictures for Masons room and all but one had a wall hanger on the back.

The picture to the right of the 'M'. It had nothing to hang it with. So I drank some pop :)
Screw a pop tab to the back and hand it up :)
Just in time
Saturday night and the pallet table is done! sort of.
There are some cosmetic pieces in the process.
Here is how it was done...
There are some cosmetic pieces in the process.
Here is how it was done...
Take a skid. see if the full thing will fit in your room as a table. In our case it wont... our room is too narrow.
Cut the skid to preferred size. If it isn't high enough with one, cut another skid the same size and put it on top.
For the skid that will be the top, we took off those bottom 'supports' so it would be a bit cleaner between them, for storage.
Take it outside if you run out of room or it gets too messy :)
Notice the pallet to the left is our top piece, we are putting the boards all together to create one surface with no cracks.
Sand everything down. Don't want your guests getting splinter while reaching for their drink off your table.
p.s. you may get a splinter or two making this table.
Pile the two pieces together, add wheels.
The top we put the boards together but the bottom layer we left as a pallet with slats/cracks.
This is why its not all the way done. Notice the big corner 'pin' Not sure what you call them, but its the pins from a railroad....
These! know what I am talking about? Well we (aka Brandon) is making holes for these and making 1 was hard enough. However don't feel bad for him, it was his idea. A great one at that.
So there it is, did the explanation make any sense?
Brandon is in all the pictures because he did most of this challenge.

Challenge 2 sneak peak
I have been working on challenge two(pallet table) but not as much. This week has been busy but I will get done. I cut the first layer while Mason was sleeping.
I am very surprised he slept since the jigsaw was loud and could be heard throughout the house.
One thing we have been doing this week is talking to AuntIE Connie in Africa on skype.
But here is a sneak peak at the pallet after I cut it
That's no fun! I didn't show you anything close to a table, haha. This is the very beginning stages and that's all you can see until Saturday.
I am also changing this mirror a bit.

Challenge 1 take two
I gave away the other family rules poster to my friend. She challenged me to make 2, meaning one for her... I couldn't say no. plus she gives us a lot. So it was a gift to a great person.
So the second one is the same thing, canvas, family rules but I did this one in colour.

I have wanted to make this for a while now but Brandon didn't want me too...now that I told him I was challenged to make this, he brought home two skids. Well if I only knew it was that easy.
So this is my inspiration and I hope to be done by Saturday.
Stay tooned...

Challenge 1 complete. Family Rules
So its not yet a week but this challenge was a quick one.
The inspiration was this: http://pinterest.com/pin/342103255/
I started with a blank canvas
Then typed out the words
I adjusted the words to fit across the page
Printed it all out
attached to the back of my canvas and put against the window, so I could see through it to trace it.
Then went over it with a black sharpie permanent marker
and there you have it. Challenge 1 complete!

Good Looks
Do these babies have anything in common? Do they look alike? like triplets almost?
Left is Brandon (my husband) as a baby
Middle is Mackenzie (my beautiful niece) at 4months old
Right is Mason (my son) at 2months old
I think they are so similar its crazy, maybe I am just crazy...

In spare time
I am working on this weeks challenge and I am almost done... I have until Saturday.
I am not going to show you the status of it but wanted you to know that the challenges you send me can be anything, big or small. Art to furniture. Crafts to Sewing. Be nice with the sewing, I will be doing it by hand. If I need a machine, I can borrow one but just know my skills are from high school fashion class and I didn't get A+.
I work as fast as I can while Mason does this:
But lets face it, sometimes he does this.
So he is actually sleeping now and I am off to do some work around here.
